The purpose of an internship is to get a taste of what it’s like to be a student at a college. You get to learn about the classroom, get to meet a lot of people, get to be around a lot of new people, and get to meet some really awesome people.
My first summer at Columbia, I interned at a computer science department. This semester, I’m interning at the marketing department. The marketing department is where I get to work with some pretty awesome people, as well as learn about some really cool things. I’m very excited to see what I can do here and to see what the future holds for me.

I’ve heard from many people that, as a marketing major, you should check out “internship sites.” They often have a job board, and you can apply for various jobs through the job board. There are also internships that are open until the summer, so in the end you just need to apply for a summer internship and wait for the job to open.
Also, summer internship applications are free. In the summer, these sites are able to offer their summer internships in the summer. For those who don’t want to apply right away, they do a lot of other internships to help fill in the gaps. Some internship sites also have summer internships that are open to the public with no applications needed.
If you’re good at writing, you can always start your own blog. Blogs are typically self-hosted websites that have a single post per day. If you can’t write, you can probably code. I’m a big fan of coding and the challenge of blogging. I’ve been blogging on my own blog since 2008.
