It’s true that the old-school “horseback-riding business” has been in a state of decline and a little bit of a recession over the last few years. I was on the side of those who think it’s time to start thinking about a new business. It’s true that some of the business has died because of the recession, plus the economic downturn has had its effect on the horseback-riding business.
That isn’t to say that the horse-riding business is dead. I think that the horse-riding business might be more in a state of “crisis mode” than in a state of “recession mode,” but that’s a debate for another day.
However, I will say that although the horseback-riding business seems to be in a state of crisis mode, it seems to be doing better for the current economic climate than people like me thought might be the case.
But its not all bad news.
The horse-riding business is in a state of crisis mode because there are no horses to ride! You can tell that because most of the horse-riding businesses I’ve been to seem to have horses on premises. No one seems to be able to afford them, so they just move to the most expensive parts of town and go from there. I think that this is one of the reasons that I still have a horse at my house.
I know. I feel the same. The reason I have a horse is that I have a stable filled with horses right now. I also have a car with a horse in it, and that is one of those things that I don’t need.
