Today we are so accustomed to the idea that we are in control of our health, that we don’t take the time to question the health of our patients, nor do we look at the health of our community and the environment around us. We have become so accustomed to the idea that we are in control of our health, that we let all the things that can go wrong go completely unchecked, which often leads to the most serious consequences.
The truth is, we make mistakes. And we are not the only ones. We as a community need to take the time to stop and think about what we are doing, and why, and what has been going on for the last couple of weeks.
Patients are, in our opinion, the worst people in the world. I know there are people who tell me that they can’t be bothered to help people who have lost everything but you. But I do believe that they are the most reliable people on this planet, and that if they are going to stop and try to stop us then they need to be able to help us.

There have also been a number of articles that have talked about the importance of taking a population health perspective in decision making. We are all a part of this community and we all have some responsibility for its health.
