The information technology industry is one of the fastest growing jobs markets in the US. The demand for information technology (IT) professional positions has increased by more than 50% over the past ten years. This growth in demand is due in part to the fact that the demand is growing faster than the supply. A recent study by the Economic Research Service at the U.S. Department of Commerce showed that the demand for IT professionals is projected to grow by more than 50% over the next decade.
In a similar study, the Economic Policy Institute found that the demand for IT professionals will grow faster than the supply in the next ten years, a trend that is likely to continue in the coming decades.
With so many people needing to work in technology jobs, I think it is no less than time that we create more opportunities for these people. We have the technology and the skills. We just need to create more jobs for them.
I think the jobs available are fantastic, but there are also a lot of people out there who are not doing very well, or even at all. It’s no wonder that the Bureau of Labor Statistics recently downgraded the IT job category to “economically inactive”. Now that’s a scary statistic.

Both ways are awesome, not only because you get paid for your time, but because it’s a great way to get a job and not have to make any work for the government.
