There are a lot of different things you could do with the basic idea, but in case youre not very into DIY, here are some other, more practical things you can do.
One of the easiest, and most practical, ways to make your own costume is to just use regular fabric. For the most part, this isn’t so easy to do, but you can use a couple of quick and easy DIY tutorials to learn how to use some basic sewing techniques. To get started, you just need some black fabric and a needle and thread. Use some of the following pattern instructions to put together a simple costume.
To make a realistic costume that looks like a mom wearing her daughter’s clothes, you will need some black fabric and some black construction paper. Cut the fabric of the dress you want to make into a square shape. To create a pocket for your daughter, make a slit from the top of the dress to the bottom, then place a small piece of black construction paper inside. This will act as a seam to help keep the dress from moving.

The construction paper is also so that you can make a great little jacket or hoodie for your daughter. I like to use it to make a long-sleeve t-shirt or sweatshirt that has an embroidered pattern of the word “D-I-V-O-R.
I’m not the best at sewing, so I’m not sure how this works, but I would imagine that by sewing the two together, you can form a pocket on the inside.
It is also possible to make a nice dress for your daughter by sewing a large piece of fabric with a long seam. This fabric can be sewn so that the length is the same as her leg or arm. The seam can then be sewn on the inside so it is not visible.
