When I decided that I wanted to dress up as the dumbest person in the world for Halloween, I was very excited. I thought that dressing up as this other person would somehow allow me to do things that weren’t in my wheelhouse. I thought that I would be able to feel more comfortable and confident in my own skin, which would allow me to feel more comfortable in my own life.
It turns out that I was wrong. Because, you see, in the last several years I’ve had a pretty bad history with my own self-image. I’ve had this weird, self-conscious, stuck-up girl-girl feeling. I’ve always been this way—and I guess, in the last couple of years I’ve even gotten worse. I’ve let myself go and my confidence has just plummeted and I’m not sure I completely understand why.
As it turns out, I was wrong. Because Ive been letting the wrong people in my life in the last several years, Ive been letting people who want to change me. And my self-confidence was just plummeting for a few days, but now it’s back up to where I was before. Turns out Ive got a few more tricks up my sleeve.
This is a good thing and a bad thing. Good because youve decided that you need to break free from the crowd of people who have been using you to get ahead of you in your life, and bad because youve been allowing people who don’t know you that thing youve always wanted to use against you. You can use this to your advantage. It will teach you to be more proactive and to take more control of your life.
You might have noticed that this is the third in a series of posts about how important it is to have a costume that can be used to teach you how to be a better person. Now I know its a bit of a stretch to say that making a costume is the same as teaching someone to be a better person but it is a step in the right direction.

To get around that, just find a dress that fits and then cut it in half. Cut the bottom half off the dress and then sew it back on to keep your height.
