With so many different styles and styles of dressers available, it can be a pretty daunting first step for a DIYer. My friend Megan started out her home search by looking at several of the many different dressers that were in her local stores. Having a few dressers that she could just make her own, she picked the one that made the most sense. Her style is a classic mix of retro with modern to a little bit of everything that she loves.
With the help of a few tutorials and some great new products, the dresser was transformed into the look that it is today. It was fun to see her complete one room, and it’s certainly fun to see her turn it into a space she can truly enjoy.

Diy-doodle-do! I know, right? Doodles are great, but when you think about it, they are really just a way to make your house look like a home. A home looks better when its made out of real objects rather than fabric.
That’s true, but DIY projects can and do change the look of your home. One of my first projects in college was to make a new dresser. I went to the local hardware store and found a dresser and a chest that were in really good condition. At the time, I didn’t realize that the dresser was made out of old wood and had a very plain pattern.
This dresser was in my dorm at the time and it was a huge difference from the dresser I made in high school. I’m glad I saw the difference now, and I’m glad its in my dorm too.
The main reason for making a dresser is because it is a good way to display your personal items that were on display at the time you bought the dresser. For example, if you were married in high school, it shows you how much you love each other and how much you care about each other. In the dresser, you can put pictures of your children, your parents, your siblings, and even your dog if you want.
