Believe it or not, diy credenza is a new age term coined by the Italian designer, Gio Ponti. He came up with it to describe his new design and renovation plans. Gio was looking for a creative way to showcase the creativity of his new home, so he used the term to describe the concept of what he was trying to create in his new home.
With Gio having so much pride in his new design now, I’m sure he doesn’t mind how much everyone (including me) thinks of it as an old-school credenza.
I guess it depends on how old-school you want to be. I like the design, and I think the term does a good job of describing it.
