I think the clip thing is one of the better DIY ideas. The clips are a great alternative to a real, DIY, car window shade, because they are basically an extra, DIY, car window shade that’s self-aligning. You basically just stick the clips on the sides of your car window and pull them apart when you want. Also the clips are reusable, whereas the actual shade is only good for one season.
I just hate when people suggest that you use car window shades in your home. You’re probably going to spend a lot of money on your window shades, so you should put the money you’re spending on them back into something useful to you. If you’re going to spend $20 on a car window shade, why not spend $20 on a car window? The window shades that come with all of the other kits are really, really good.
