When you go to the dentist, do you have the feeling that they are just going through the motions? I was surprised to find that I had the same feeling. I have been to three different dentists over the past year since my last root canal, and they all have the same exact conversation. They ask me if I am having any problems.

The thing I find interesting for dentists is the many times they mention to me that they are trying to sell me something I don’t need or am not interested in, but I don’t really feel like I need or am not interested in.
We know they are trying to sell us things we don’t need or are not interested in, but that’s not how we feel. We are like the dentist he is, we are trying to sell you something you don’t need or are not interested in, but we are trying to sell you something you do need and actually are interested in.
This is the point, right? To sell you something you need and actually are interested in? As with dentists, this is a popular marketing tactic for those who know that they are not qualified to sell you anything you do not need or want. Its a great way to entice you into buying things you don’t need/don’t want, but you never use the tool because you know it is the right thing to do and you can’t justify the time it takes you to do it.
With dentists, you can also be more direct about your interest, rather than just being vague. And while its not strictly a marketing strategy, I would say having a dentist make sure that your teeth are healthy is a plus.
I am a dental hygienist and we have patients that come to us that have never had dental care. Some of them have no teeth and others have teeth that are in bad shape. Often, the patients with no teeth are afraid to go to the dentist because they have been told that the dentist is a place where people get sick.
I like to tell people that I have dental insurance because it’s a legitimate reason to go to the dentist, but I just wanted to clarify that I am not suggesting that a dentist is the only way to get dental insurance. Some people simply need to get dental care, but most do not.
It is time to brush your teeth, take a shower, and to go to the dentist. That is the most important thing to do, but you also need to get your teeth cleaned. There will be times when you just can’t get to the dentist, and dental marketing consultant will be your best option.
