We all know what it’s like to be lied to. It sucks, and we never forget the person who did it. They say that telling lies is easy, but living with them is hard.
That’s why I’m going to share some of the reasons why telling lies are bad for you–because there are so many!
Lies are bad for your health. Telling a lie triggers the same reaction in our brain as doing something wrong, so when we tell lies, it causes stress to build up and puts us at risk of developing mental illnesses like depression or anxiety. The trust that’s lost after being lied to is difficult to regain–and if you’re someone who values honesty, then this can be really hard. Plus most people don’t want to associate with somebody who they know has lied before! So not only do you have less friends but also no job opportunities either way.
